KOEGEL Trailers
In 2004 Koegel Fahrzeugwerke GmbH was formed as a new private company. The focus of this was because Koegel Fahrzeugwerke AG ceased to trade and had been taken over by another company in Germany, Trailer Holding GmbH. This turned out to be a bit of a coup as the newly merged company began to see a marked turn around in trailer sales. But did not affect the standards of manufacture or quality
of equipment; as there was nothing particularly wrong with the quality of the old Koegel trailers, just tough economic times. As proved when Trailer Holding Gmbh decided to take over the business.
The company is still geared towards high standards when it comes to the manufacture and sale of trailers to be used in short or long distance travel. This has been a deciding factor for many companies who decide to own Koegel trailers within their fleet.
Probably more commonly seen out on the roads are the curtain (tarp) sided trailers; ideal for side loading, and hard shelled box trailers of the Koegel (Kögel) Maxx range. These are fantastic models for the transportation of heavy goods. With so many trailers in the range it would be a shame to single out just the newer Maxx trailers as the better trailer, as it really does not matter as to which trailer you buy.
The biggest part in your decision is what you will be transporting, and how the trailers are to be loaded. Added to this it also does not matter if your trailer is new or used as Koegel Trailers have always been manufactured to be strong, robust and secure. The price is usually a deciding factor with there being a sizeable difference between a new trailer and a used trailer. It is becoming more of a trend for companies and privateers to buy a used trailer as part of their equipment for haulage purposes.
Given that the standard of manufacture at Koegel is so high, you know that when you do purchase a used trailer from the range, you know you are buying a good quality and versatile piece of equipment.
